Lots of good things are happening in my photographic life right now. Life is good! Below is a list of current exhibitions that you can go visit to see some fabulous photographs, including some of my own work.

My photograph, “Boxes” is one of the thirty three images juror Molly Roberts choose for the exhibition. Ms. Roberts is the Senior Photography Editor at National Geographic. She is a nationally recognized curator, editor and documentary photographer with over 25 years experience in book and magazine publishing. 

The Multiple Exposures Gallery was founded in 1985. It is located in the Torpedo Factory Art Center on the waterfront in Alexandria, Virginia. The show runs from October 17, 2017 until November 26, 2017. The gallery is located on the third floor of the Torpedo Factory and the hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Thursday 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. and Friday, Saturday, Sunday 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. A link to the online gallery is here:  MEG

The Moment Before Ascension

This year the InVision competition was expanded from a PA based photography exhibition to a regional photo-based juried exhibition. The regional area includes PA, NJ, NY, DE, MD, OH and DC. Juror Genevieve Coutroubis chose my photograph, “The Moment Before Ascension” for inclusion in the exhibition.  Genevieve is the Director of Artist Programs at The Center for Emerging Visual Artists. In addition to her role at CFEVA, she is a practicing documentary photographer and ethnographer. In 2007, her work was featured in Women to Watch: Photography in Philadelphia at the National Museum for Women in the Arts.

The exhibition will be on display at the Crayola Gallery in the Banana Factory Arts Center located in Bethlehem, Pa. from October 28, 2017 through January 8, 2018. The Banana Factory is open daily, except holidays. Hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-9:30 p.m., and Saturdays-Sundays, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. 

The Art of the State Purchase Award Collection, 1969-2017

Abandoned Gymnasium, J.W. Cooper School

For the 50th anniversary celebration of the Art of the State Exhibition, the State Museum of is showcasing featured works from its Purchase Award Collection. These are purchases by the museum during the Art of the State Exhibition. They have been adding these to the permanent collection over five decades. In the 2012: Art of The State Exhibition, my photograph “Abandoned Gymnasium, J.W. Cooper School” won 2nd place place in the Photography Category and the Museum Purchase Award. The Photography Juror that year was Marc Duke, award winning, internationally renowned, freelance photographer. The Awards Juror was Catriona Fraser. Catriona is an international award winning photographer and the owner and Director of the Fraser Gallery.

The exhibit opening celebration is Friday, October 20, 2017 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the museum. The PA State Museum is located at 300 North Street, Harrisburg, Pa.
