Just back from another great July 4th celebration at the cottage with family and friends. Friday night we partied round the campfire until the wee hours of the morning. Saturday we did the “Three Hour” river-tube float. On Sunday we kayaked and canoed 14 miles to The Land Before Time. We had plenty of good food and spirits. New this year, a mysterious “Mad Cow” wine made an appearance.
Distinguised guests included Fannie (master of ceremonies), Dutty, Narley, Cash, the four legged guests, Robrandi, Gyeem Rajkumar, Studgie, Philton, Capin Smokey Mike, Hairy Arm Kate, Smoogie, Pretzel Bag Erin, Rhine, Cottage Virgin Heidi, Lance, Zack, and last but not least, Pork Fever Neeters.
Topics of conversation ranged from the recent wedding celebrations, the responsible use of genetic engineering in producing a chicken with 14 wings, a newly discovered treasure, “The DivaCup”, all sorts of gaming and music from WOW to the Indigo Girls. Fannie even expounded on the sexual orientation of the female mosquito..!!
Although it was hot, and due to a recent decline in the Brown Bat population, the mosquitoes were terrible, I think it is safe to say that everyone had a great time. I can’t wait until next year’s July 4th.
