Rugged Maniac 5k Obstacle Run

The MUDBOTS before the Rugged Maniac race.

On Saturday morning, bright and early, we rendezvoused with team MUDBOT at Raceway Park for the Rugged Maniac 5k obstacle run. TheMUDBOTS were early enough that they snuck their cars into the very first row of the parking lot, right in front of the registration tent, before Security closed it off. After greetings and hugs team MUDBOT set into adorning themselves with their MUDBOT regalia and accouterments’s. By 8:30AM everyone was sufficiently adorned and the race was on…!

The MUDBOTS,  in wave number one, got off to a great start at approximately 9:02 AM. After crossing the start line and disappearing into the woods, team MB completed the 5k including all 14 obstacles with the last member crossing the finish in in a little under 50 minutes. And then….The Results:

  1. Katie – Time 43:19 – Place 110 out of 1061The MUDBOTS
  2. Mike – Time 45:45 – Place 523 out of 1271
  3. Jess – Time 48:05 – Place 218 out of 1061
  4. Phil – Time 48:05 – Place 609 out of 1271

And then…?

And then the celebration began. We spent the rest of the afternoon lounging under a small shade tree, drinking Harpoon IPA, eating pork barbecue and french fries and watching all of the other racers clambering out of the finish area. We had a really good time…!
