Hall of Dinosaurs!

When I was much younger I had the good fortune to attend “Drawing Classes” for several summers, at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History located on Forbes Avenue in Pittsburgh, PA. I thank my parents, Jim and Jody, for that great experience. The art studios were in the basement but we spent many hours drawing in different parts of the museum. By far, the Hall of Dinosaurs was my favorite place to sketch. For those of you that don’t know:

The Carnegie Museum contains one of the finest collections of dinosaur fossils in the world. Among the fossil displays are a 78-foot-long Diplodocus, a Tyrannosaurus rex, an Apatosaurus, and a Stegosaurus. There are hundreds of additional fossils, as well as pterosaurs, and Ice Age mammals.

Here is an image that I made in October of 2009.

Just imagine meeting up with one of these bad boys in the woods…! If I ever had a dog, this would be it. I just love the Hall of Dinosaurs!
