Harrisburg Camera Club Members Featured in Art of The State

Yesterday afternoon, five exhibiting photographers from the Harrisburg Camera Club had the opportunity to speak in the “Artist Conversations” series. The photographers included Geoff Crego, Andrew Hoff, Don Uvick, Bob Willis and myself. The conversational tours are hosted by the Pennsylvania State Museum in conjunction with the Art of the State exhibit. It is in it’s second year.

The conversation was facilitated by Beth Hager, Chief of Education and Outreach for the Pennsylvania State Museum and Don Giles, Photographer, Media Specialist of the museum. There were perhaps 15 to 20 museum visitors including several other camera club members who joined the tour. The tour was an hour long presentation. Each of photographers had an opportunity to discuss their images with the museum visitors and staff. The event was very informal, it ran very smoothly and there was lots of comment from the museum visitors. The topics went from purely artistic to highly technical and everywhere in between. I had a wonderful time. From the comments that I received, it’s safe to say that this Art of the State event was a success!

Many congratulations to Geoff, Andy, Don and Bob. These guys are truly talented photographers. A big THANK YOU to Beth Hager and Don Giles for organizing this event! It was awesome!

I managed to take a couple of photographs with my point and shoot. I was trying not to use flash so some of these are not so sharp. Anyway, please enjoy … and if you have any comments I’d love to hear them.
