This year, National Nurse Anesthetist Week was celebrated January 19th through January 25th. The theme was “Our Priorty, Our Passion, Our Patients”.
From the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists website:
National Nurse Anesthetists Week is celebrated the last full week in January on an annual basis. 2014 marks the 15th National Nurse Anesthetists Week, which began in 1999.
For the third year in a row my wonderful CRNA wife, Robin organized a fund raiser as part of the week long celebration. This years event featured a volleyball tournament held on Saturday, January 25th, at LA Fitness in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.
Robin is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Nurse Anesthetists practicing in PANA District III which is comprised of the following counties: Franklin, Adams, York, Lancaster, Lebanon, Dauphin, Perry, Juniata, Cumberland, and Berks however, the event was open to all persons. As you can see from the above photo the turnout was pretty good. There were 8 volleyball teams with all the associated husbands, wives and children. We had the Pacer Spikes, the PLowe’s, the Beta Blockers, the Volatile Agents, the DD 214s, the Blue Jays, the Lethal Injection and last but not least the Holy Terrors.
The competition was fierce but in the end it the PLowe’s that won the day. Congratulations to all the members of the PLowe’s…!
Donations this year were $4443.00.
All proceeds from the event were donated to the Wounded Warrior Project.
I would like to personally thank everyone that helped Robin make this a day a success. You all know who you are…thankx…! And a big shout out to all the facility, students and alumni of the York College of PA / Wellspan Health Nurse Anesthetist Program. Their dedication and commitment is unwavering!
